Hi all, I received a phone call today (19-10-2017) that of  the two cygnets that migrated to Amberswood from Low Hall one has gone missing while the remaining one has been found dead. There have been rumours saying that men have been seen using nets to catch both fish and wildfowl on both Amberswood and Low Hall. If  any persons are seen acting suspiciously could you please report the fact to the police and Wigan Council as it is in all our interests to protect the wildlife and their habitat. On the Low Hall reserve we are hoping to finally have another picnic table installed near to the Dipping Pond. The meadows still need cutting but the weather and shortage of staff have caused further delays (where is our so called Indian summer) also we need to clean out the drainage channels. We are also revamping our five year maintenance programme which runs out this year and helping us to do this is a new member to the management team Becky Wilson, who has been taken on as a Bio-diversity Intern. Welcome Becky.
