What is happening/happened, not a lot on the maintenance side of things. We are still waiting for our new picnic table to be installed in the meadow along the woodland trail, and also still waiting for the car park to be resurfaced. Some kind soul left us a Christmas present of a load of rubbish on the car park which has been removed. The group is to apply for further funding for various projects on the reserve which will hopefully improve and maintain site access. Just recently (28th Jan.) our group was invited to have a stand at the Leigh Ornithological groups open day at the library in Leigh. The day was quite enjoyable in that we got to chat with a lot of like minded people, you would be surprised how just much work is being carried out across Wigan borough by volunteers trying to keep the environment as natural as possible. Speaking of volunteers, the Friends of Low Hall would like to invite you to be a member of the group (none of us are getting any younger) to inject some new blood (so to speak) into the reserve. We meet on the first Monday of each month (except bank hols.) at 6:30pm in the Bird I'th Hand pub, Hindley (next meeting 6th February), please feel free to attend and air your views. Thanks. The groups workdays are on alternate Wednesdays and Fridays the next one being on Friday 10th Feb.
